Carol Grant

Carol Grant

Carol is originally from Davenport. She and her husband have lived in West Des Moines since 1992. Carol retired in 2013 with the majority of her career spent with the American Red Cross. They have two children and 4 grandkids, all living in the metro area, which makes them very happy. In addition to reading books, she is a gardener, genealogist and aspiring portraitist.  Carol has the honor of serving as Honorary Consul to Japan for Iowa and also serves on the Iowa Capitol Planning Commission.

Carol has always loved libraries and reading books. She began volunteering with the WDM library as a member of the Friends Foundation Board before being appointed to the Library Board.

Carol says it is impossible to pick a favorite book. She recently finished reading Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson and The Wright Brothers by David McCullough. Both are excellent!
